Houston is HOT – and I am not referring to the summer heat ! Take a look at just few of the reports on Houston.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that among the 12 largest metropolitan areas in the country, Houston had the fastest rate of job growth.
America Public Media – Marketplace reported that “there are very few areas around the country, growing as fast as Houston.”
Trulia recently named Houston the “healthiest housing market for 2013.” With low vacancy rates, low foreclosure inventory and strong job growth.
Houston is ranked number 3 in the United States for flash sales as reported by Redfin and a Seattle based real estate firm that coined this phrase. What is a flash sale ? Homes that are changed from Active to Pending within 24 hours. Other cities in Texas that made their mark are Dallas and Austin. Dallas came in #4, and flash sales for Austin came up #5. Texas took 3 of the 5 top spots!
U-Haul released is migration trend report April 2013 reporting Houston as the top relocation destination in the United States. In fact 2012 was the fourth year in a row Houston took the number one spot for families relocating to Houston. The ranking reflects destinations for movers renting trucks one way. ” More than 1.6 million one-way U-Haul truck transactions occurring during a recent 12-month period”
Jobs are a big driver of real estate sales and Houston is one the strongest cities in the nation for creating jobs. Add the fact that interest rates continue to be at record lows and this is great year for real estate in Houston.
